Pamela, Hairstylist & Owner
Pamela’s passion for hairstyling began at a young age. While still in high school at just 15 years old, she enrolled in the first cosmetology course offered in her community. Over the next three years, she balanced high school with her cosmetology studies, graduating in June 1988 with both her high school diploma and her hairstyling licence.
After gaining experience working in several salons, Pamela took a major step in her career in 1996 when, at just 26 years old, she opened her first studio, Pam Per U Hair Studio. Her entrepreneurial spirit continued to grow, and in the fall of 2002, she purchased a building and relocated her business.
Life brought new and meaningful chapters along the way. Pamela married her husband, Barry, in 2003, and their family grew with the arrival of their son, Quinnlan, in 2005, followed by their daughter, Kenna, in 2009.
As life evolved, Pamela made the difficult decision to sell her business while keeping the building. Although she stepped away from business ownership for a time, she never stepped away from her passion for hairstyling, continuing to work as a stylist in another studio. In 2012, Pamela returned to her entrepreneurial roots and followed her dream once again, opening Evolve Studio. More than a decade later, she continues to do what she loves, creating beautiful hair, building relationships with her clients, and growing a studio that reflects her passion for the industry.
For Pamela, Evolve is more than a studio, it’s a journey that has grown and evolved alongside her.
Gaylene, Hairstylist
With a passion for people, a love of a fast-paced environment, and plenty of experience behind the chair, Gaylene has been creating great hair since graduating from the Advanced School of Hairstyling in 2002.
Gaylene specializes in blonding, men’s cuts, and seniors’ hairstyling. While she may joke that she doesn’t always follow every new trend in the industry, her years of experience mean she’s rarely stumped when it comes to a hair challenge.
For Gaylene, every great appointment starts with listening. She wants to know what worked last time, what didn’t, and most importantly, what’s driving you crazy about your hair. From there, the conversation often turns into something more meaningful, because building genuine relationships with her clients is one of the things she loves most about being a hairstylist.
She’s grateful to work alongside such a great group of women at Evolve Studio and especially thankful for the wonderful clientele she has built over the years. Whether it’s tackling a hair challenge, sharing a laugh, exchanging a hug, or simply enjoying a down-to-earth visit, Gaylene considers each client a special part of her life.
When she’s not at the salon, you’ll most likely find Gaylene outdoors and near the water — camping, fishing, hunting, or riding her quad.
Trish, Hairstylist
Trish began her career in the beauty industry in 2005, choosing hairstyling because it looked like a fun and creative career while also giving her a skill she could take with her anywhere in the world.
For Trish, staying inspired and continuing to grow is an important part of being a hairstylist. She enjoys learning through online education, keeping up with new skills and trends, and collaborating with her coworkers. She believes there is always something to learn by watching how other stylists work and discovering the “what, how, and why” behind their techniques.
When a client sits in Trish’s chair, her goal is simple: to help them with whatever brought them in and have them leave looking and feeling great. She takes pride in creating an experience that is about more than just the finished style.
One of Trish’s favourite parts of being a hairstylist is getting to know her clients and hearing their stories. She loves the connections that come from meeting people she may never have crossed paths with otherwise and becoming a small part of their lives.
Outside of the salon, Trish’s creative side continues to shine. She enjoys painting, writing, and colouring, along with travelling, spending time with friends and family, and getting lost in a good book or movie. Her movie tastes range from rom-coms to superheroes, reflecting her love for a little bit of everything.
Emma, Hairstylist & Hair Extension Specialist
With 11 years of experience behind the chair, Emma brings a passion for colour, creativity, and healthy hair to every appointment. She specializes in blondes, lived-in colour, balayage, and hair extensions, with a particular love for colour theory and creating beautiful, dimensional results while maintaining the integrity and health of your hair.
Emma is Philocaly certified in hand-tied weft extensions and is also trained in tape-in extensions, allowing her to help clients find the extension method that best suits their hair and desired look.
Her love of hairstyling doesn’t stop at colour. Emma enjoys all types of cuts, from a dramatic big chop to a simple baby trim for those working toward growing their hair long. Whatever your hair goals, she focuses on creating a look that feels fresh, healthy, and uniquely you.
When she isn’t behind the chair creating beautiful hair, Emma keeps things interesting with lash and brow services. Her passion for learning and variety keeps her on her toes and allows her to bring creativity to every aspect of her work.
Ohla, Hairstylist & Colour Specialist
With over 10 years of experience in the beauty industry, Ohla brings a passion for creating beautiful, personalized looks that highlight each client’s natural beauty and individuality.
Ohla began her hairstyling career in 2012 after graduating from hairstyling college in Ukraine. She specializes in blonding, modern colour techniques, especially AirTouch and women’s haircuts, while also enjoying men’s cuts.
For Ohla, the most rewarding part of being a hairstylist is seeing her clients leave the salon feeling happy, confident, and excited about their new look. Whether she is creating a seamless blonde, a dimensional colour transformation, or a fresh new haircut, her goal is always to help clients feel their absolute best.
When she’s not behind the chair, Ohla enjoys staying active, going to the gym, focusing on her health, and travelling with her family.
Catherine, Hairstylist
With almost 20 years of experience in the hairstyling industry, Catherine brings a passion for creativity, connection, and helping her clients feel confident in their own hair. Her love for hairstyling began at just 13 years old in 2003, when she started experimenting with friends’ and family’s hair. She went on to graduate from Advanced School of Hairstyling in 2009 and has since worked in a variety of salons, continuing to grow her skills and experience along the way.
Catherine enjoys creating lived-in colour, working with extensions and curly hair, and cutting both short and long hair. She also loves creating beautiful wedding hairstyles and bringing her clients’ visions to life for their special day.
What Catherine loves most about hairstyling is the creativity it allows. No two days are ever the same, and for her, there’s nothing better than seeing someone leave her chair feeling good about themselves. She stays current with the ever-changing industry by attending classes and workshops and pursuing certifications when her schedule allows, while also taking advantage of online education to continue learning.
Creating a relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming experience is important to Catherine. She wants every client to feel confident in her chair and leave the salon feeling their very best.
When she’s not in the salon, Catherine’s creativity continues through decorating, painting, crocheting, baking, and decorating cakes. She loves cooking for and hosting family and friends, and most of all, she enjoys life with her son and daughter, who fill her world and never cease to amaze her as she watches them learn and grow.
Born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba, Brynn is an up-and-coming hairstylist apprentice with a passion for creativity and helping people feel confident in their hair.
Brynn loves creating vivid fashion colours, experimenting with all kinds of haircuts, and bringing unique ideas to life. She is excited to welcome new clients into her chair, get to know them, and create looks they’ll love.
As she continues to grow and learn her craft, Brynn brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine excitement for making every client’s experience a great one.
When she’s not behind the chair, you can probably find Brynn enjoying two of her favourite things, the colour green and cats. If you love these two things as much as she does, she has a feeling you’ll get along just fine!
Cadence, Barber & Hairstylist
Cadence is Evolve Studio’s tiny but mighty barber, bringing skill, creativity, and personality to every appointment. She specializes in skin fades and hot shaves and loves the precision and artistry that barbering allows.
Cadence graduated with her dual diploma in 2017 and has been behind the chair ever since. She has continued to build her skills through additional education in barbering, hot shaves, and fading, always looking for ways to refine her craft and provide the best experience for her clients.
What Cadence loves most about her career is being creative while building genuine relationships with the people who sit in her chair. She believes every appointment should be personalized to each client’s needs. Whether that means chatting and catching up, enjoying a relaxing experience, or simply having some quiet time. For Cadence, seeing her clients leave happy is the most rewarding part of what she does.
Born and raised in Dauphin, Manitoba, Cadence brings a genuine, down-to-earth approach to her work and takes pride in helping every client leave feeling confident and looking their best.
When she’s not behind the chair, Cadence loves travelling, hiking, camping, crafting, and spending time with her three cats.
Karyna, Barber & Hairstylist
Karyna’s career in the beauty industry began in 2010 when she started her training at Advanced School of Hair in Brandon. With a passion for creativity, personal style, and connecting with people, barbering quickly became the perfect fit.
Karyna specializes in barbering, men’s cuts, and extremely short women’s cuts, with a particular love for working with curly hair and creating personalized fades that complement each client. She enjoys bringing creativity into her work through different styles and designs while making sure every cut is tailored to the individual.
Staying current is important to Karyna, and she follows the ever-growing barbering industry through social media to keep up with the latest looks and techniques. She also enjoys exploring new products and finding trusted brands that help her achieve the best results for each client.
When a client leaves Karyna’s chair, her goal is for them to feel confident, excited, and ready to recreate their fresh cut at home. She takes pride in perfecting every detail, one snip at a time, and loves seeing the genuine happiness a client feels when they love their finished look.
Outside of the salon, Karyna balances her time between studying for her university courses and enjoying walks with her dog. Whether she’s learning, creating, or spending time outdoors, Karyna brings the same dedication and attention to detail to everything she does.
Amber, Esthetician & Nail Technician
Amber’s passion for the beauty industry comes from her love of creativity and working with her hands. She especially enjoys creating nail art, bringing her artistic side to life through unique and personalized designs for her clients.
Keeping up with the latest trends and discovering what’s new and up-and-coming is something Amber enjoys. She loves finding inspiration through social media and bringing fresh ideas into her work while helping clients find a style that feels like them.
When you sit in Amber’s chair, her goal is to make you feel comfortable, welcomed, and confident. She values building genuine connections with her clients and loves working together to bring their individual nail goals and ideas to life.
Outside of the studio, Amber enjoys trying new recipes and spending time with her husband, Tanner, and their two cats. Whether she’s getting creative in the kitchen or creating something beautiful at the salon, Amber brings her creativity and personal touch to everything she does.
Cheryl, The Lady Behind The Scenes
Every great studio has someone behind the scenes who helps keep everything running smoothly, and at Evolve Studio, that person is Cheryl.
Cheryl has been part of the Evolve family long before she officially joined the team. A longtime client of Pamela’s for more than 30 years, Cheryl eventually found herself looking for something to keep her busy as retirement set in. She joined Evolve Studio and quickly became an important part of the day-to-day studio life, taking on a variety of roles from sweeping up hair and bookkeeping to helping manage the operations of the studio.
Cheryl considers Evolve the perfect retirement job. She loves the opportunity to meet and chat with both returning and new clients and takes pride in making everyone who walks through the door feel welcome and comfortable. What she loves most about being at Evolve is the people, energy, and atmosphere. She enjoys the hustle and bustle of the studio, getting out and connecting with others, and simply being part of the Evolve family.
When she’s away from the studio, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her son and daughter-in-law, cooking, and catching up with friends.
Her helping hands, friendly personality, and genuine care for everyone who walks through the door make Cheryl a valued part of what makes Evolve Studio feel like Evolve.
